Climate chambers present exceptional challenges for lighting systems due to their extremely wide operating temperature ranges. Continuous temperature cycling and operation at both very high and very low temperatures place considerable stress on electronic components, seals and materials. Different rates of thermal expansion can also affect the service life of conventional luminaires. Lighting systems must therefore be specifically designed and approved for the actual temperature range encountered in operation.
