NEW: d9000 - High-performance LED Floodlight for application in hazardous areas

The new LED floodlight d9000...  is extremely impressive due to the high light output of its 42 highpower LED. The effective luminous flux of the light fitting is 10,200 lumen maximum with a relative light efficiency of 76 to 92 lm/W. Therefore it is considered an adequate alternative to a conventional 250W HIT/HSE floodlight.

However, it is considerably more energy efficient due to the fact that the maximum system performance at full current feed is only 135W. Thus, an energy cost saving up to 45% compared with a 250W HI floodlight can be expected.

Every individual LED has got a specially calculated lens optics in order to ensure a uniform and effective light distribution. A narrow beam or a narrow/wide beam characteristic are optionally available.

The design has been optimized for the requirements of the LED as a light source. Due to this fact it may be called a lightweight in this category. The floodlight's weight is just 17 kg. This means that also in this connection the product is superior to conventional floodlights as far as its handling and installation are concerned. Moreover, the wind load sensitivity is lower due to the compact shape. The whole design is vibration-proof and consequently the floodlight is best suitable for application under the roughest ambient conditions.

The housing is made from high grade copper-free aluminium alloy (British Standard Marine Grade BS EN 13195). Consequently it is best suitable for applications at rough offshore conditions without any additional painting nor coating. The adjustable bracket as well as all external bolts and locks are made from stainless steel. This point is part of the standard equipment.

The LED and the ECG applied in this floodlight are made by well-known companies. With these high-quality components and the ideal thermomanagement by the direct connection of the LED to the housing, this floodlight could be planned for installation at extreme climatic conditions. The service temperature ranges from -50°C up to +60°C  in the respective configuration adapted to the operator's specification.

SCHUCH floodlight d9000... is extremely easy-to-maintain. Any replacement of the LED modules and of the ECG is easily possible via the bolted glass frame (ignition gap threading). Due to this fact such component replacements can be made at site. The threaded ignition gap is maintenance-free in this IIC certified floodlight. These design features, however, should hardly play any criteria to influence the buying decision with particular regard to the 50,000 guaranteed hours of operation.

The explosion protection has been characterized as follows:

  • Zone 1: II 2 G Ex d e op is IIC T4/T6 Gb and in
  • Zone 21: II 2 D Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db

Ingress protection: IP 66/67  (according to type of cable gland)

The voltage range is: 120-277V 50/60Hz. This feature allows a universal installation of the floodlight throughout the world.

Optionally a protective grid and a safety rope can be offered.

With this explosion-proof floodlight d9000... SCHUCH has been the first company in this segment who developed an adequate alternative to conventional floodlights. Technically and pricewise it is a real alternative to the previous solutions.
