The family owned company is fully aware of its responsibility for Germany. With about 400 people Schuch is one of the most important employers in the region of the city of Worms and young people enjoy their education in many technical fields.

In 1895 Mr Adolf Schuch manufactured the first waterproof porcelain socket for incandescent lamps. This was the beginning of his reputation as a specialist for problem solving arising under extreme ambient conditions. In 1910 came the first mine light fitting out of which until 1929 quite a wide program of explosion-proof and mine-gas-protected luminaires have been developed, then came the first explosion-proof light fitting for bi-pin fluorescent tubes, then the first dust- and waterproof light fitting made out of glass fibre reinforced polyester as well as in 1999 the first explosion-proof luminaire for induction-type lamp systems. These are further significant milestones showing off the company's force of innovation.

Improvements to the very details are still a continuous challenge.The international significance of the Schuch company as a specialist of light fittings is basing on intelligent and practical solutions not only concerning standard products but in particular with regard to special wishes and customers' problems.
