Regulation 94/9/EG (generally called ATEX 100a) serves for adjustment of the legal directions of the member states of the European Union as far as the designated application of devices and protective systems in hazardous areas is concerned. As from July 1, 2003 the a.s. regulation replaces in the European Union the regulations 76/117/EWG, 79/196/EWG and the following ones.
